Core is an everyday lamp with illumination and home safety as its core values. This inclusive piece of design gives consumers the peace of mind that they will always have a light at hand during a power outage. Situated in the home this portable lamp can be used for a number of tasks from lighting that dark kitchen cupboard, taking your dog into the garden at night or even using it as a mood light. With Core you will never be left in the dark, looking for those candles.

This project allowed me to me gain a great understanding of a range of materials from metal to leather. In the production of my model I used hand fitting methods to create the base plate and experimented with quilting techniques.
