ModPod exhibition

The ModPod project was a concept for a pop-up exhibition display showcasing the history of type tools from typewriters to digital word processing.

The idea behind our design is that we wanted the people to be attracted to the exhibit from street view as well as entice the museum goers to enter through the tunnel we designed. The theme and mood we were going for in our pop up was to have an industrial, unstructured feel on the outside. The exterior structure is made up of scaffolding that appears to be placed in random order but in fact it is strategically placed to support the inner skeleton and the plastic shrink. The plastic shrink was also to assist with waterproofing the structure.

The interior of the exhibit has a theme of travelling through time. So the exhibit will start with the first typewriter and surround the piece with decals and cut-outs of characters from that decade.
