the cube - Each student in the studio designed an assembly to be built collaboratively. The idea chosen was to take the kiva space, pull it out, and turn it 45 degrees in two directions and place it back on top. This is a drawing of the installation process. The challenge became how do you make a cube? What is its essence? How does a change in context and tectonic expression change the experience of a dimensionally congruent space?
