Fritz Lang: from Berlin to Hollywood

"Fritz Lang: from Berlin to Hollywood" is a museum exhibition concept that celebrates the legacy of the great German director. For this design concept, I created digital renderings of an environmental signage that expands across two walls within a tridimensional space. My intent was to select a typography that would connect to the Berlin of the early 1920s while communicating a contemporary feel for today’s visitors. Nicknamed the "Master of Darkness" by the British Film Institute, Lang’s career lasted over forty years. Most of his pictures were shot in black and white. Thus, I decided to limit the color palette to dark grey and white font to recall the Expressionist years, along with a rose tone in reference to late Hollywood glamour. My designs are meant to provide an introduction to the themes of the exhibition.
