Jormungand - The concept behind Jormungand is from Norse mythology. Jormungand is a serpent that is large enough to encircle the earth and hold onto his own tail. As the story goes, when Jormungand lets go of his own tail the earth will end.

The forms of Jormungand are about eternity and time flowing back into itself, hence the helical disc shapes that make up the hour and minute "hands."

I designed this as an internal project for Integrated Design Solutions.

  • Clean minimal and sophisticated. Love the gradient pattern it creates when viewing the the watch face straight on. Great concept.

  • Truly gorgeous! You have a winner, here. As a project I conceptualized 366 ways of expressing time (did 1/day, it was a leap year). If you want more time-keeping ideas to riff on, let me know.

  • This is the best concept design I have met recently. What I like mostly is that it consists either of a brilliant idea, of chaste clear and modern design and not at last it has HISTORY - the archetype idea of human notions about TIME.....amazing work !!!
