Technicolor shawl. This piece was made with cottolin and linen fibers. It was woven on a floor loom and it has linen warp floats that were deliberately cut to create fringe on the fabric face. All gradations of colors were hand dyed before preparing to weave.
Color and Weave. This shawl was a study on color and structure. I was not very happy with the colors I ordered and so I lightly bleached the dark purple to get an eggplant shade. I had a lime peel green that was bleached to become a light sage green. This is a networked double weave so each side of the fabric has a different look. This was a design I created on Weave-point software and woven on the dobby loom.
Both sides of the fabric.
The other side of the fabric.
A beginning... This was my very first woven piece on a floor loom. I was inspired by Anni Albers and some of her hand manipulated techniques. This shawl is made of Tencel and fine merino wool. It uses a double weave structure to create the long vertical floats.

Woven Shawls on both the floor loom and dobby looms. I like to experiment with optical mixing between the different warp and weft colors.
