Neato Robotics New Feature Animations

I was asked by Neato Robotics to create several new feature animations for the new software updates for their in-home intelligent vacuum robots. The idea for this first animation is that the robot scans it's environment, and calculates how much energy is needed to finish an area in a house, and make a stop at the charging base for a quick charge to finish the extra floor area.

One difficult part of this animation was that it had to be used in different aspect ratios, one being horizontal, and one vertical. The horizontal view woud be used by marketing, and the vertical view would be used in the app. Sometimes it's obvious that it's an animation used for two different purposes in mind, because the focal point seems to be all on its own, alone with no context. I solved the problem by instead of selling just a robot, but by selling the environment around the robot, the lifestyle. I associated the robot with an expensive interior design scheme, as something you'd see in Dwell Magazine.
