This project for a KickScooter with an Auxiliary Drive Wheel won the 2013 Altran Foundation Spain Awards. The proposal consists in using an Auxiliary Drive Wheel at which the user will kick instead of to the ground; this Auxiliary Drive Wheel is itself connected to the Rear Wheel through a simple gear.
The auxiliary wheel will be operated by the user with the same movements as when walking, without having to lower his hips to kick the ground.
I submitted a patent application in Spain last May and now I am looking for designers interested in developing this concept into a real project.
