Explorations in Ceramics.

Ceramics came upon me unexpectedly. I love working with my hands, therefore a throwing class sounded wonderful. Days were spent in class and out, throwing and glazing. The subtlety and finesse that is required speaks to me on so many levels. The details and inability to fuss over the outcome really attracts me to this medium. Once an object is thrown, the only real way to alter it in any significant way is to destroy it and re-throw it. This appeals to the efficiency within me and I appreciate the skill it takes to throw many identical pieces. It is truly a craft one must spend time perfecting.
