The logo for the GPS Triangle South Africa competition

The GPS triangle is a gliding competition where pilots race their gliders around a course that is defined by a triangle. Racers must cross the start gate lower than 500m altitude and less than 120km/h, then do as many laps as possible in 30 minutes.Energy management is key between being conservative and keeping altitude and being audacious to optimize the number of laps while still looking for thermals.
When the competition came to South Africa, I was asked to design the logo for the event. The dynamic triangle shape forms the primary holding shape while giving a sense of upward movement and dynamism. Within the triangle I have incorporated the SA flag and a recognizable modern glider silhouette.
