This is the concept I chose to produce, along with a cardboard model of the scales. The idea is that the main diamond shaped component is actually a money box, therefore the children can use it to store their money and then when they want to measure it out against there sweets. Therefore this should teach children about saving, balancing and allows the parents to reward their children for saving.
Cardboard model of my design.
Two solid works views of my final design. I chose to go with various bright colours as I felt this would appeal to children. The exploded view shows how the scales simply come apart and slot back together, for ease of use and space saving.
These two presentation board present the functional and aesthetic qualities of my toy scales.

Scales project

This was a technical project, with a brief that stated we had to design and produce toy scales, for children ages 4-7 years old, that would balance 100grams of sweets with 10 2ps.
