The client, Carilion Clinic needed to improve HCAHPS scores for patient experience related to medication communication at the bedside. As project lead, I worked with a design team and clinical staff to introduce design thinking as a way to identify the issues effecting scores and create a system-wide approach to improvement including change management, revised work flow, EMR integration and improvements, promotion, education, and communication.
