This layout is an homage to the old-fashioned flair of Bengal. There is an eye-catching split-tone layout with deep, earth-toned colors such as deep maroon and mustard yellow on the background. Intricate mandala-type designs, taking hints from rural Bengali alpana tribal art, create an ornamental border that surrounds the content and provides cultural flair. Menu options are designed as delightful, free-hand drawings, which make the leaflet cordial and welcoming. Instead of the symbol for live fish, the drawings of fish steak fit the idea for "fish meat" but hold on to the old art theme. Making the headings with an old Bengali font but the menu details with an understandable, easy-to-read font keeps the layout both aesthetic and usable.
Flyer design philosophy was to add refinement and simplicity. There is abundant white space utilized to achieve the clean, uncluttered look. A top-down photo of the attractively plated Grilled Salmon with Asparagus is the star shot, with the food as the obvious star. Using a modern, sans-serif font for the menu listing and an accompanying fashionable cursive font for the headline allows for sophisticated and cohesive-looking design. Softer, hand-drawn food icons are utilized as dainty highlights, aiding the major imagery without overwhelming it. Subdued colors with an occasional brighter accent hue (teal) in the palette reinforce the theme of freshness and wellness.
