In 2008, Hasbro contracted me to create some evocative sketches for Lucasfilm and Marvel, for a series of character-based vehicle designs. The first project was for vehicles based on characters from the Star Wars universe, emotional car sketches that embody the essence of the personality, colors, and identifiable cues of selected characters from Star Wars. What follows is a small sample of my favorites. While the project ultimately went unproduced, I was told that Lucasfilm called my sketches the winners.
Because if someone calls you up and asks if you want to design some Star Wars cars for Lucasfilm, the only answer is: YES.
These sketches were featured on Jalopnik, Gizmodo, and Car Body Design in 2014.
