Milagros Restaurant Identity - milagros in spanish means "miracles". i was inspired by the earthy colors in diego rivera murals, old mexican broadsides, wooden type, and catholic iconography.
Manderlay Film Poster - "manderlay” is the sequel to the film “dogville” by lars von trier. it is the story of a young, naive woman and her attempts to liberate the slaves of a plantation that has its own unique code of government.
Incorporations: Body as Source Poster Series - this project involved creating a series of posters, one for the overall series, and one each for the individual lectures. we were limited to abstract imagery and typography only. i wanted to show the organic/human forms as the basis for a systematic, rigid structure.
Anne Sexton Poetry Book - for this hardcover book of poetry, i attempted to show anne sexton’s words as they lived in her world, a world mired in depression and anxiety. her prose both interact with and are contained by a series of lines, which also house information such as page numbers, line counts and chapter headings.
Restaurant Robin des Bois Website - robin des bois means robin hood, in french. the restaurant has a very eclectic whimsical feel, with a fantastic garden that is an oasis in the summer. for my concept, i used the idea of a forest glen (in sherwood forest) as the frame for the content. the navigation works two ways, one, you can follow an animated bird from page to page for a guided tour of the restaurant, or you can simply use the navigational links on the bottom.
