An alternate concept for the Chihuly Bridge of Glass that was to span from the Washington State Historical Society Museum to the Chihuly Museum of Glass. The design would create a monumental gateway, using the artist's signature glass chandeliers, as a greeting into the downtown core.
A concept for the Chinese Reconciliation Park, Tacoma WA that commemorates the 1885 expulsion of the entire Chinese community by force from the city of Tacoma, led by the mayor and city council.
Concept for a kinetic monument to be located on Tacoma's Thea Foss Waterway that recalls the time when 4 masted ships tacked back and forth to sail up the waterway to load and unload their cargo. The sculpture would consist of 60 foot tall masts counterbalanced with shapes that recall the working waterfront's industrial heritage. The masts would both tip and weathervane like a ship in the wind.
Concept sketch for an interactive sound and music park. The design featured glass upside-down umbrella shapes that collected rainwater to be directed over interactive kinetic elements, then into a spiraling rivulet on the ground to drain. Musical and sound gathering instruments topped with kinetic sculptures celebrate both creative play and the Pacific Northwest's rainy and aquatic environment.

Speaking of pie... Scene: The finale of the FMA Live! science show Cue: Dramatic music, dim lights A curtain opens to reveal the school principal dressed in an FMA Live! jumpsuit, strapped into some sort of chair contraption with flashing warning lights and mysterious clouds of fog. On a cushion of compressed air, the hover chair glides out onto stage, guided by the show hosts over to stage left. After an audience led countdown, a jet of compressed air is released from the back of the contraption to propel the principal across stage amid thunderous cheers through a 4 foot diameter suspended cream pie! Yessss! Fist pumps! Life is sweet.
This goes wayyy back, but is a favorite sketch from when my son and I did spontaneous napkin and placemat sketches before meals at restaurants. Soy sauce walking tank with fortune cookie fighters, teapot and chicken drummie walkers. Too much fun!
