The brief for this project was to design a piece of furniture from start to finish in a single day with the theme to be based off the definition of Velocity.
Velocity: Speed of something in a given direction.
Velocity embodies both speed and direction in the form of a dining chair. Taking inspiration from such objects of desire as supercars and jet planes, Velocity gives the feeling of constant motion even while sitting still.
The chairs theme of speed and motion is further emphasised through the use of high tech materials. Velocity is constructed from both lightweight and strong carbon fiber which means it will stand the test of time.
The seat is a combination of comfortable, body conforming nylon mesh and a perforated leather cover stretched over the top for both elegance and style.
Velocity is a piece of furniture targeted towards low volume production with exclusivity and rarity in mind much like the fast and beautiful pieces of design it is based off.
