AIA 10up Competition - Honorable Mention

AIA's annual 10up competition requires the designer to think in terms of temporary, easy-to-install, and interactive design. This installation was based on a 5 sided pentagon shaped temple, each piece is designed to be pre-cut off-site, and then assembled with only metal pins and the pre-cut wood joinery. I designed each door to be identical in shape and structure, with holes for pins when the artist wants to lock the door in place. The piece plays with light, color, shadows, and adds a textural interactivity for anyone that might walk through.
