Bee Panel One - This repetitive motifs in this piece were inspired by microscopic images of honey bees, while the use of color comes straight from my imagination. I created this piece by stitching layers of red, white, and blue silk organzas over denim, cutting away portions of each successive layer to reveal a kaleidoscope of hues. Opaque silk duppioni circles and crescents are Interspersed between the layers. Hand-embroidered stars create movement from bottom to top.
