Mastercard - Debit Rewards

Mastercard launched the Debit Rewards program in Australia in July 2017: a web platform for subscribers to get access to vouchers and competitions.

THE ASK:
Mastercard saw high visitor numbers but almost no subscribers. With only a couple of months to hit their business targets they asked us to optimise the platform and drive subscriptions.
OUR APPROACH:
Thanks to data and platform analysis we identified people didn’t understand how the rewards system worked and found the subscription process too hard. By optimising the funnel we could make a huge difference.
MY ROLE:
Data analysis to identify the specific hurdles; optimisation of the user flows; Lo-Fi wireframes and prototypes; user testing of the designs and optimised copy, followed by multiple iterations; project management, oversight UI Design and development.

THE RESULT:
The conversion rate grew by more than 300% - from 5% to almost 17% in less than 6 weeks which allowed Mastercard to reach their target.
