Concept of the prow - development of the prow lines: final concept sketch
HSC - "Lotus Prize" 2008 Merit Design Award (1/2) - These two boards, illustrating my 2nd cycle thesis, yielded me the "Lotus Prize" 2008 Merit Design Award in group A (vehicle design). The competition was organized by Hunan Provincial Government of China, Hunan Science and Technology Bureau and Hunan Golden Eagle Broadcasting System.
Fast ferry: area for people with motion disabilities - Two areas in the vessel can host people with motion disabilities; each one is associated with two front seats addressed to people travelling with the disabled person.
Fast ferry: an exploded view - exploded view of the bridges. The high-speed craft (HSC) is designed to transport 700 passengers on short routes at a cruising speed of 25 knots. The project won the "Lotus Prize" 2008 Merit Design Award in group A (vehicle design).
HSC - "Lotus Prize" 2008 Merit Design Award (2/2) - These two boards, illustrating my 2nd cycle thesis, yielded me the "Lotus Prize" 2008 Merit Design Award in group A (vehicle design). The competition was organized by Hunan Provincial Government of China, Hunan Science and Technology Bureau and Hunan Golden Eagle Broadcasting System.
Fast ferry: final view of the exteriors - The final plans of the ferry (from the bottom up): engine deck; two passengers decks (main and upper); navigation deck. Maximum speed: 30 kn Operating speed: 27 kn Load: 700 passengers
Fast ferry: in-progress sketch for the exteriors - My 2nd level degree thesis project. Design of interiors & exteriors of a fast monohull ferry for 700 passengers organized in two main decks. The hull was studied and developed at Universita' degli Studi di Napoli.
Fast ferry: an upper corridor - Picture of an upper corridor. Each corridor is 20cm wider than value prescribed in the IMO High Speed Craft Code 2000.
Fast ferry: the prow - Picture of the prow taken in the main deck. In the upper part of the image, you can see the terrace of the upper deck (where the café area is located).
Dynamic lines in ferries and cars
sketching HSC seats - sketches of the final version of the high speed craft (HSC) seats. An ergonomic, organic shape designed to be comfortable and easy to clean.
Fast ferry: entrance area - Located at 1/3 of the lenght of the vessel, the purpose of this area is to shorten the paths to reach the seats, joining the main entrance of the ferry to the elevator, the stairs, and the corridors.
Fast ferry: the prow from the upper deck - Picture of the prow taken from the terrace of the cafe' at the upper passenger deck.
HSC structure - steel structure of the HSC that I designed for my 2nd cycle thesis. All solid modeling was made in CAD environment; rendering in Maxwell Studio. The project gained the "Lotus Prize" 2008 Merit Design Award in group A (vehicle design).
