The ongoing discussion in our studio this semester is the idea of intensities of change over time. The studies of our site (an unused lot on Brooklyn's DUMBO waterfront) focus on the change that occurs on/around the site at different scales. The above focuses on the intensities of change measured in different social formations as seen on the streets of DUMBO.

Animations of our initial site drawings using systems of forces enabled a reinterpretation of the idea of intensities of change in a membrane.

Aggregating our animations based on the idea of potential structural systems allowed for further exploration of the manipulation and creation of space based on a series of external forces as well as the interaction of multiple membranes working as a new, single system.

Looking at directional forces on site (water movement of the East River and motor vehicle movement) as well as the directional spaces created in the membrane led to potential ideas of membrane and site interaction.
