Material Studies
M. Arch: Semester 1 Studio - The studio began with critical studies of a specific material and a unit development based on the material's performative criteria. Aggregation of the units introduced new ideas of pattern, scale and connection. The plaza at the Citicorp building on 53rd St. and Lexington in NYC was introduced as our site. Program emerged as we explored the site using the performative criteria of our initial material studies in a way that would allow us to reinterpret the idea of Publicly Owned Private Space.
