I am drawn to design because I love to learn. Design, as I see it, is an artistic way of breaking down communication barriers that we might not have know were there. In my career I aspire to be able to pass on knowledge, learn, share ideas, and help others.

I have become enthralled with travel, and learning languages. I hope to pursue language learning, whether on my own or taking formal classes. I would love nothing more than to be able to use multiple languages in my future career and life goals. Currently I am learning Japanese on my own, as well as brushing up on my Spanish.

As a designer, my strongest area is vector art in Adobe Illustrator. In my spare time I enjoy making vector art pieces or graphics for fun and to keep up on my skills.

  In the Technology, Art & Design program, we learned a little bit of everything. The three emphases that we were taught were Print Design, Digital Design, and Exhibit Design. The software that BSU used were: Adobe CS6 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Acrobat, Flash, and Dreamweaver), FormZ, 3D Studio Max, as well as refreshers in most of the Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel.) We were also taught how to write and follow Creative Briefs, how to write proposals, and how to follow an RFP. The students were also required to learn time management by producing Production Journals for nearly every project.

  In this position, I supervised the computer labs and other rooms designated for the Technology, Art & Design students of Bemidji State University. My responsibilities in this job were to maintain the labs cleanliness, resolve any computer or printer issues, and oversee the students that came in to work on school projects. In the time that I worked, I was able to help many other students with software, technology. or general design questions.
  
  I was also asked by my supervisor to teach one of her classes while she was away for work. I taught two, two hour class periods. These classes were introductory classes taught to incoming students, with little to no prior design knowledge. I was asked to teach the students the basics, as well as some tips and tricks, of Adobe InDesign.

  At A&W I was not only a Waitress, but also a Fountain. A Fountain is given the responsibilities of running tills as well as manning the drive-thru. During my time here, I learned a lot of things, such as: working with many people, quick thinking, resolving situations, working with money, time management, and responsibility.
