X-Lock

The basic structure of X-Lock: to wrap around infrastructure and the bike frame. If the thief cuts the weaker cable, the ‘X’ is left on the bike and cannot be removed without cutting the bars as well, also forcing the thief to use another tool to break it, something they are unlikely to carry.
The ‘X-Lock’ is a bike lock entered into a design competition to attempt to reduce the amount of bikes stolen in the UK. Existing locks use either steel cable, which isn't secure, or hardened steel, which is more expensive and worse for the environment.
