Stenciling is the main paint technique used on this set.
The walls were base painted then covered mostly with shelf paper. A stencil roller was used to create the pattern. The shelf paper was, in places peeled back to indicate the peeling wall paper. "The Birthday Party", set designer Tony Andrea
Along with creating the stencil for the walls, I made the stain glass window with light gels and black gaffers tape to create this stunning stain glass window..
This picture is showing a paint technique used for the set of "Throughly Modern Millie". Varied width strips of wood were layed on the flats. Sprayed with a fine mist to create ghost shapes of the wood strips. This was done to give extra depth of detail without being specific.

Stage right String Art piece I created. It was used to distinguish a different room for this unit set. The center hallway is finished with faux wood shelf paper. "The Real Thing" set designer Tony Andrea

This was my second drop for Inside Broadway, created in Photoshop. I enjoyed painting this in a parking garage.

Tile were painted directly on the stage floor. Masked of each tile. Very wet technique. Pour, drip, feathered on the paint sprayed some and let it do it's thing. Beautiful results. "Lobby Hero", Regina Garcia set designer
