Ecoast - Renewable Energy System
Ecoast, a renewable energy generating system is specifically designed to reduce the reliance on current sources that are becoming obsolete. According to the City Government, the Western Cape uses roughly 400MW electricity per day, of which sustainable resources merely 2%. Cape Town and the West Coast uses the majority of the Western Cape’s electricity and since 2/3 of energy is being lost through cabling it is wiser to have the generation closer to the consumption. It was then decided that Ecoast will be placed alongside the National coastal Roads Western Cape like the R27, N2 and N7 and other minor beach roads.
