Background - Much of the world (Canada, Australia, Japan, and nearly all European countries) enforces laws requiring hands-free cell phone usage while driving. In the US, hands-free laws are gaining momentum; in 2008, twenty states had passed full or partial bans.
User research - I conducted primary, exploratory research with consumers of existing hands-free solutions to observe in-car phone use behavior and to identify pain points and product opportunities.
