I designed a double-sided invitation to mail to our guests. One side lists some of the most memorable games we played together as a couple and the lessons we learned. The other side shows all of the important event details with some fun game references, like "The cake is a lie. (We're having pie.)" I also designed coordinating thank you cards and menus of the reception. I even used our initials on an envelope sticker to seal our invites and thank yous.
After the wedding I created a series of short videos to recap our wedding for gamers and friends who could not attend. "You're Invited!" includes the motion graphic slideshow from the reception. "Gamer's Vow" is a video clip of my husband and I exchange our video gamer's vow that we co-authored. "Decor fit for a Geek" shows our video game action figure centerpieces and the Halo set piece that was constructed by my brother, Morgan. A still from the video introduction, it features the professional photography we had from Jenny Cesar in Milwaukee, WI.
The slogan I created in Inkscape to introduce each of our videos.
The reception motion graphic featured high-resolution images from each of the games we had listed on the initial invitation.
After introducing the game I showed the same lesson that was on the invitations and then provided additional explanation about what we thought of the game or why it was memorable for us.

Beary-White Gamer Wedding

My husband and I were first brought together by video games, and it continues to be a shared hobby and cornerstone of our relationship. So it was only fitting that our wedding should have a gamer theme. I designed all of the print materials, created a motion graphic slideshow for the reception, and after wedding assembled a set of short videos to share our awesome event. Our wedding colors were green and purple, which you'll see pulled through into every aspect of the event.
