DESCRIPTION: UNIQUE BUT AGING PROPERTY THAT HAD SEVERAL ORIGINAL PIECES OF ARTWORK & SCULPTURE LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE SITE. CLIENT’S GOAL WAS TO IMPROVE VALUE AND VISIBILITY OF THE PROPERTY WHICH IS SET PRETTY FAR BACK FROM STREET FRONTAGE WHILE STILL KEEPING CHARACTER/
CHARM OF THE OWNER’S HISTORIC ART PATRONAGE. DESIGN CONCEPT WAS TO MAKE THE BUILDING BECOME A PIECE OF ARTWORK ITSELF BY USE OF NEW MATERIALS AND SCULPTURAL CANOPY ELEMENT MADE OF CUSTOM STRUCTURAL
STEEL MEMBERS AND PERFORATED SHEET METAL THAT PROVIDES DYNAMIC LIGHTING EFFECTS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS BACK-LIT BY LED LIGHT FIXTURES THAT WERE PROGRAMMED TO PROVIDE CUSTOM LIGHTING SCENES THAT CORRESPOND TO THE VARIOUS HOLIDAY SHOPPING SEASONS. MATERIALS INCLUDE BACK-LIT KALWALL, THIN BRICK SIGNBOARD, ORNAMENTAL STEEL, AND METAL PANELS.
