Automated Adhesive Dispenser

The objective of this work assignment was to improve the reliability of an adhesive application process. The glue bead required critical dimensions of .125 inch in bead width and an arc length of 13.5 inches. The machine components included a Nordson EFD pneumatic syringe glue dispenser, 24v power supply, Stepper motor (for driving the work holding fixture), stepper driver, micro-controller (for controlling sequence of operation), Relay, electrical enclosure, and the work holding fixture. It is important to note that the entire machine was designed using SolidWorks and machined independently by myself. Also, programming of the micro-controller was developed with the help of a Senior Software Engineer.
