The rehabilitation of XT-Square is realized through a placemaking concept that is interactive, inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable, with an emphasis on optimizing green spaces, rainwater harvesting, and dynamic façade design that represents the identity of the festival.
The design results in an integrated zoning system for commercial, festival, culinary, and public open space functions, all interconnected through interactive corridors and a skydeck that unifies the building masses.
This rehabilitation is expected to revitalize XT-Square as a generator of the creative economy, a space for local culture, and a festival city icon of Yogyakarta.
