Lead Heads
The name "The Dandora Leadheads" is in reference to the fact that a huge number of the children who live close to the dumpsite exibited symptoms of lead poisioning among other conditions. I sought to express that by scribling pencil marks (which is made of lead - Pb) on the children's heads and placed the the chemical symbol for lead on their heads thus 'leadheads.'
The background image was a cardboard that I picked up and scanned, I like the irony in that this cardboard could have very well found its way to that very dumpsite whilst helping me illustrate what the dumpsite is doing to those around it.
