The principles of design that we used were emphasis, balance, rhythm, pattern, contrast, proportion, and unity. The program I used for this project was Adobe Illustrator, which is a vector based drawing program. To complete this project I used a number of different tools. For instance, I used the selection tool, the direct selection tool, the type tool, the rectangle tool, the ellipse tool,and the line segment tool. My favorite element of design was line because I had to create the word line out of actual lines(using the line segment tool). Elements and principles of design are important when creating a successful composition because elements are the building blocks of art while principles are used to organize and judge elements in a composition.
