The connection from the mains electrical grid to the lamp is made through a rotary contact that allows the lamp to swivel around the cable axis, when pushed by the wind. Made of blown, then frosted on the outside, glass. The hemisphere atop of it is turned cherry wood and prevents the lamp of bouncing in instead of spinning.
