The base station design “Nest” is inspired by 5G network, which connect objects, devices and people. Other source of inspiration is nature and its best co-operators and camouflages. The aim was to create a design, which is at the same time distinctive and blending into its environment. The outer casing made of lightly brushed stainless steel merges into its environment by reflecting environments colors and light. The base station shape remains of beehive or wasp nest, and appears as if it is growing from the infrastructure. Pure geometrical shape is both classic and bit futuristic. The shape is unique and would be recognizable as part of Helsinki 5G brand. The incorporation of other brands such as Elisa or Nokia can be made by attaching logo to detachable triangle. The overall shape is egg-like, so snow and water will slide out of the casing. The antenna matrix can be placed on top.
