Live Landscape Drawing allows you to catch the full detail of the scene that you are drawing.
I find that a pencil gives you the best amount of shading possible by layering.
There is also some sketch-work and shading that I have done in my spare time, along with personal projects that i've undertaken such as respraying my car bumpers to match the paintwork.
