Case - Art 325 Collaborative Processes In this class we were set up in groups of five. We had to work together collaboratively to come up with our concepts and complete our projects. This project was about creating a board game. We had no limits to what we could do. This is Cataclysm, a board game of a post-apocalyptic world. It is a game of survival of the fittest.
Rules - The main point of this game is to collect the Salvage cards to make your super-weapon. This super-weapon is then used to destroy the other factions you are competing against. You may battle each other and steal supplies. Each faction has their own unique weapon to make out of the Salvage cards. The faction that makes their super-weapon and then makes it to the middle of the board first, wins.
Pieces - The four factions that we created are zombies, aliens, machines and humans. These are the game pieces. The black stones are used to calculate how much life you have left. Every time you get injured you loose a stone. If you loose all 5, you are out of the game.
Salvage Cards - These are the Salvage cards. There are many different cards that help you build your super-weapon, as well as cards that hurt you, or are no use to you.
Game board - This the game board. Each faction starts on their home base and makes their way around the board however they please. They just need to keep collecting cards until they have their super-weapon. This landscape is supposed to mimic what a post-apocalyptic world could look like.
Close Up - Close up of the players.
Cataclysm Board Game - This is the board game all set up to play. Everything fits neatly into the case for safe travel.
