Early prototypes revealed that the tolerance stack-up from the vendor was too loose for the original pivoting mechanism to perform reliably. Although the geometry was based on proven mechanisms, the manufacturing capability couldn’t consistently hold the required precision. We redesigned the mechanism to be less tolerance-dependent while maintaining function, resulting in a more robust and manufacturable final product.
