Mavin, by Arktura

Mavin is a 400 foot long decorative facade launched as part of a new flagship lululemon retail store in West Hollywood California.
Built in the heart of the WeHo Design district on Melrose Avenue, this unique shell wraps around the storefront, and incorporates both hard geometric lines in the form of an abstract “ivy” pattern, and a subtle organic mountain scape silhouette. Incorporating a photo of the local Santa Monica mountains, the facade consists of 35 unique aluminum panels which were powder coated white in order to function as canvas for a special UV cured printing process normally used in fine art and high end display systems.
In order to protect the printing, the panels were then treated with a self healing Nano-Ceramic coating developed by PPG to create the “matte” paint finish on luxury cars.
I was the lead designer and project manager, seeing the project from design through manufacturing and installation.
