Potter’s Field Project
Our site is a remnant of Potter’s Field, a cemetery in Cincinnati that has been used since thecity’s early history for burial of people who were indigent, unknown, or victims of epidemics and floods. The site’s history is a grim reminder that despite our social contract to provide respectful burial of human remains, the standards are different ifthe deceased are pooror unknown. Our professional ethic demands examination of our role in issues of economic, environmental, and social justice. We are stewards of culture, economy, and environments, and this project will require the deployment of our skills for creative and responsible approaches to guide the future of Potter’s Field and its neighborhood.
