REMOTE CONTROL VEHICLE

The goal of this project was to design a machine for a competition against other teams where three types of balls: 2.5g ping pong balls, 24g squash balls and 55g sand filled squash balls located on the arena, within the tower, tower perches, front of table, center of table, ramp and back of table. The goal is to design and build a machine that gets the largest total weight of balls in its bin.

My contributions:
• Designed a remote control hill-climbing vehicle with a rear drivetrain made up of two metal gearboxes, an Akerman rack and pinion steering system, and an arm consisting a 6- speed gearbox, a mast and the arm itself on a hinge, working to grab balls and run them along strung beads into the carriage
• Constructed a CAD model and manufactured the vehicle with various manufacturing equipment
• Performed multiple tests of the final vehicle
