Designed outdoor musical instruments utilizing discarded materials from cars including a wind chime tree made out
of keys and a xylophone made out of scrap metals which will be implemented in a playground in Detroit
My contributions:
• Researched playground and music instrument design
requirements
• Came up with a “Motor City” Music Space theme that contains different instruments made from pieces of a car
• Designed and prototyped a key wind chime tree. The top right picture is a skeleton of the tree and keys will be hung onto the hoops with fishing string and the tree will eventually be covered by keys
• Designed and prototyped a xylophone made out of metal bars. This xylophone has a C major scale C-D-E-F-G-A-B
