Tessellations

I used Adobe Photoshop CS to finish these works. Tessellations, introduced by M.C. Escher, including 3 different types: Translation, Rotation, and Glide Reflection. Translation means slide, Rotation means flip, and Glide Reflection is both slide and flip. Instead of trying to create a pattern first, I choose to draw free style lines, make it into a shape, then figure out what pattern it could be out of this shape. I drew my Glide Reflection as a fish, Rotation as a bird, and Reflection as a flower. After finishig my Tessellations, in class we made them into an art work called Kaleidocycle, which is a combination of 6 regular triangular pyramid, looks like a toy but neat. I enjoyed doing it.
