¬¬For the garment, I have put together three units of a heat-resisted surface. The pattern has been developed by folding a rectangular piece of tissue fabric to make a double layer. With the two layers of conjoined fabric intact, I have hand-stitched a spiral pattern. Then the fabric was gathered by pulling the ends of the threads together. Finally the stitched samples were put into a heat setting machine which gives the crumble or ripple effect over the fabric. Then the fabrics were directly pinned to a body form to create the garment and also to explore the limitless silhouettes that the versatile heat set material could create.
To make this potli bag, firstly, I have simply cut the non-resisted extra ends of the fabric. Then I have punched in holes on the rear ends and added rivets. Finally a thin strip of brown leather is passed through the wholes to gather the circular surface to form a pouch and also to act as a handle.

Heat set

The project here is to develop a surface using 'heat-setting' technique. The textured surface should be further made into a desired product or so. It should have a maximum usage of the versatility of the surface through draping, folding and minimalistic usage of cutting and sewing.
