Developing a collection of Dhurries inspired from the painting 'Mount St Victoire' by Auguste Renoir. Through this image of the painting I have extracted the colors to create a palette for my designs. The compositions and the rhythmic flow of my designs are also abstracted from this very image.

The project here is to take an inspiration from anywhere and apply a complex fabric structure to weave out the image to crate a functional product. I have chosen the image of the bamboo groves as it is a plant that reflects the beauty and the freshness of the orient. The product that I am trying to achieve is a window panel or a slide which is light and portable. I have picked up the yellow and the green as the main colors, and black to add as an accent or a high-light.
The the weaving structure that I have followed is the 'Special warp and weft'. On the sample above i have used jute and cotton yarns as wefts.
On the above sample I have used cane splices to get the look of the bamboos and to achieve a similar appeal of coolness and freshness.
