Objective: When CMP acquired DEL Ozone in 2017 we identified their powerful AOP (Advanced Oxidation Process) technology as a strategic focus to gain market share in the water sanitization segment. AOP produces hydroxyl radicals by exposing ozone gas to germicidal UV light (UV-C). Hydroxyl radicals are the most powerful oxidation agents available, quickly destroying bacteria, viruses, pathogens and other contaminants that occur in water including chlorine resistant microorganisms, such as Cryptosporidium Parvum, Giardia and E. Coli. The DEL products were effective, but they were complicated to install, lacked operational feedback to the user, and were only compatible with a limited range of pool sizes. How can we improve the user experience and provide clean, healthy water to a larger market?
