Responsive Environment

The presence of ‘smart environments’ started to become a common part of our everyday lives. The use of digital technologies both in public and private physical spaces began
to enhance our experience within the environment. The different environmental responses get triggered by inputs such as movement, weight, sound etc. and generate a certain output such as light, sound etc. The output is seen to be more experiential rather than physical, therefore the function of the
product is the experience it generates. In this project I will be looking at how the Glasgow subway can be used as a source for a responsive environment and how the ordinary mundane activity of using and living close to the subway can be made into something extraordinary and delightful.
