Alasdair MacLaine

I have worked in "New Product Innovation" and "New Product Development" departments using a huge range of resources and a large knowledge base within the company to design and develop products to a mass production level in one of the World's most innovative design companies.

I have managed my own projects and been part of larger design teams with responsibility for key product assemblies and project team members, presenting new concepts and designs to senior management and James Dyson on a regular basis.

I have two registered designs for my work on the AirBlade Tap with a patent on the way, I also have a number of patents currently being drafted for a design I am working on in New Product Innovation.

Between attending school and university I participated in the Year in Industry (YINI) having been selected by BAA as the first student to join them as part of this scheme. As part of a professional engineering team, I gained experience working with maintenance technicians, re-writing maintenance documentation and undertaking design projects. I also participated in a 6-Sigma project planning course, gaining an understanding of project management techniques.
