A property of a prestigious resort chain in the picturesque valley of Bhimtal in India, required innovative use of space not only in cottages but also in landscaping. From designing furniture, to interior plans, and seeing them through to completion was a mammoth task. Two types of cottages were built, one with a mezzanine floor. Constructed furniture, cladded with wooden planks, and a combination of concrete and wooden flooring, gave the cottages a warm yet contemporary look. The theme of birds in trees was used, and the walls were handpainted in beautiful patterns to lay a homely touch. Complete walls were turned into windows to give the resident a fuller view of the valley. Pictures were clicked from the valley and used to decorate the walls,using the old window panes to frame them.Bamboo ropes were used as railings and cove lighting under all furniture added every bit of drama as desired.Sandstone inlays were taken inside, keeping the transition from exterior to interior seamless.
